| Spring
- If you want to avoid the Summer crowds, White Birches is for you in the
Spring! Spring in Algonquin offers the visitor much more than merely the
best trout fishing in Ontario. It also has the best moose viewing in the
province and you don't have to look very hard to rack up an impressive list.
Chances are you'll see a half dozen or more of these magnificent animals
during a leisurely drive along the Highway 60 Corridor on a May morning
or evening. Catch the spring colours - although less well-known than their autumn counterparts, the subtle hues of an Algonquin spring have an impressive beauty all their own. From the pastel green of Trembling Aspen leaves to the pink wash of distant Red Maples, to the white of cherry blossoms, and the silvery puffs of the Largemouth Aspen, the colours of spring make May in Algonquin a real delight. Spend a few days or a week appreciating nature and its inhabitants. The first few weeks of May offer the best time for spring pleasures - and keep in mind that the ice is not usually off our lake until the last week of April |
